Stem-borer: Normally a borer in stems or flowers.

Larva: The larva is described by de Meijere (1926, as lateralis) and Dempewolf (2001). Posterior spiracles each with 16 bulbs.

Puparium: Detials unknown.

Comments: Described as a serious pest of cultivated chicory (Cichorium) in Belgium and The Netherlands (Spencer, 1966b).
