Leaf-mine: Blotch mine. Several larvae feeding in a line and advancing up the leaf blade together.

Larva: The larva is described by de Meijere (1940a).

Also recorded in the Republic of Ireland (Michelsen, 2004 in Fauna Europaea).

Distribution elsewhere: Holarctic. Widespread in Europe including The Netherlands and Luxembourg (Nederlandse bladmineerders); Belgium (Gosseries, 1991b), Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, French mainland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Norwegian mainland, Poland, Russia - North, Slovakia, Spanish mainland, Sweden and Switzerland (Michelsen, 2004 in Fauna Europaea).

Also recorded in the Nearctic Region (Michelsen, 2004 in Fauna Europaea).
