ACANTHOSPERMUM. Spiny-bur. [Asteraceae]


Two species of Acanthospermum are recorded in Britain. Both are introduced and include Spiny-bur (A. australe).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Acanthospermum in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza sativae, a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Acanthospermum hispidum.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Acanthospermum in Britain.
