ACTAEA. Baneberry. [Ranunculaceae]

Two species of Actaea are recorded in Britain. These include the native Baneberry (A. spicata).

No Diptera miners are recorded on Actaea in Britain.

Elsewhere the British agromyzid Phytomyza kaltenbachi is recorded mining Actaea.

No non-Diptera miners are recorded on Actaea in Britain.

A key to the European miners, based on characteristics of the mines, immature stages and where relevant the larval cases, recorded on Actaea is provided in Bladmineerders van Europa. This includes Phytomyza actaeae and Phytomyza kaltenbachi.
