ALLIARIA. Garlic Mustard. [Brassicaceae]

Garlic Mustard (A. petiolata) is the only species of Alliaria recorded in Britain. It is a native species.

Two dipterous miners, the agromyzid Ophiomyia alliariae and the drosophilid Scaptomyza flava, are recorded on Alliaria in Britain.

See BRASSICA.

Elsewhere, in addition to Ophiomyia alliariae and Scaptomyza flava, the Brassicaceae-feeding agromyzid Phytomyza rufipes and the highly polyphagous agromyzids Liriomyza bryoniae and Liriomyza strigata are recorded mining Alliaria.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Alliaria in Britain.
