ANAPHALIS. Pearly everlasting. [Asteraceae]

Two species of Anaphalis are recorded in Britain. Both are introduced and include Pearly Everlasting (A. margaritacea).

There is an unconfirmed record of the anthomyiid Pegomya depressiventris on Anaphalis in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis, a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Anaphalis. It has been found under glass in England and Wales. All populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

Elsewhere the polyphagous agromyzids Chromatomyia 'atricornis', Liriomyza huidobrensis and Liriomyza strigata and the anthomyiid Pegomya depressiventris are recorded mining Anaphalis.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Anaphalis in Britain.
