ARACHIS. Peanut. [Fabaceae]


Only one species of Arachis is recorded in Britain, the introduced Peanut (A. hypogea).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Arachis in Britain.

The agromyzids Liriomyza sativae and Liriomyza trifolii, polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, are recorded on Arachis.

Elsewhere the polyphagous agromyzids Liriomyza sativae and Liriomyza trifolii are recorded mining Arachis.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Arachis in Britain.
