ASTRAGALUS. Milk-vetches and Wild Liquorice. [Fabaceae]


Fourteen species of Astragalus are recorded in Britain. These include the native Alpine Milk-vetch (A. alpinus), Purple Milk-vetch (A. danicus) and Wild Liquorice (A. glycyphyllos).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Astragalus in Britain.

Elsewhere the Fabaceae-feeding agromyzid Phytoliriomyza variegata and the polphagous agromyzids Liriomyza bryoniae, Liriomyza congesta and Liriomyza strigata are recorded mining Astragalus.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Astragalus in Britain.

Elsewhere one British non-dipterous miner is recorded on Astragalus, although the record requires confirmation.
