BACCHARIS. Tree Groundsel. [Asteraceae]


Only one species of Baccharis is recorded in Britain, the introduced Tree Groundsel (B. halimifolia).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Baccharis in Britain.

The agromyzids Liriomyza sativae and Liriomyza trifolii, polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, are recorded on Baccharis.

Elsewhere the polyphagous agromyzids Liriomyza sativae, Liriomyza trifolii and Nemiromyza posticata are recorded mining Baccharis.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Baccharis in Britain.
