CALTHA. Kingcup or Marsh Marigold [Ranunculaceae]


Kingcup or Marsh Marigold (C. palustris) is the only species of Caltha recorded in Britain. Is is a native species.

Two dipterous miners, the agromyzids Phytomyza calthivora and Phytomyza calthophila, are recorded on Caltha in Britain.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Phytomyza calthivora, Phytomyza calthophila, Phytomyza soenderupi and the sciarid Phytosciara halterata are recorded mining Caltha.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Caltha in Britain.
