CYTISUS. Brooms. [Fabaceae]


Five species of Cytisus are recorded in Britain. These include the native Broom (C. scoparius) and Prostrate Broom (C. scoparius maritiumus).

Only one dipterous miner, the agromyzid Agromyza johannae, is recorded on Cytisus in Britain.

The agromyzid Hexomyza sarothamni forms twig galls on Cytisus in Britain.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Agromyza johannae and Phytomyza cytisi are recorded mining Cytisus.

Four non-dipterous miners are recorded on Cytisus in Britain (see below).
