DAMASONIUM. Starfruit. [Alismataceae]


Starfruit (D. alisma) is the only species of Damasonium recorded in Britain. It is native and protected under Schedule 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.

Only one dipterous miner, the ephydrid Hydrellia griseola is recorded on Damasonium in Britain and elsewhere.
