DAMASONIUM. Starfruit. [Alismataceae]

Starfruit (D. alisma) is the only species of Damasonium recorded in Britain. It is native and protected under Schedule 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981. Only one dipterous miner, the ephydrid Hydrellia griseola is recorded on Damasonium in Britain and elsewhere. See ALISMA. No dipterous miners are recorded on Damasonium in Britain.
