DIGITARIA. Finger-grasses. [Poaceae]

Twenty species of Digitaria are recorded in Britain. All are introduced.

No dipterous miners are recorded on Digitaria in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza sativae, a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Digitaria. Miners on grasses should be reared, whenever possible, to confirm their identity.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Cerodontha incisa and Liriomyza sativae, and the ephydrid Hydrellia griseola are recorded mining Digitaria.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Digitaria in Britain.
