FAGOPYRUM. Buckwheats. [Polygonaceae]

Three species of Fagopyrum, Tall Buckwheat (F. dibotrys), Buckwheat (F. esculentum) and Green Buckwheat (F. tataricum), are recorded in Britain. All are introduced. No dipterous miners are recorded on Fagopyrum in Britain. Elsewhere the anthomyiid Pegomya bicolor is recorded mining Fagopyrum. No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Fagopyrum in Britain.
