FLAVERIA. Speedy-weed. [Asteraceae]


Only one species of Flaveria is recorded in Britain, the introduced Speedy-weed (F. bidentis).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Flaveria in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza trifolii, a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Flaveria. It has been found under glass in England and Wales. All populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

Elsewhere the agromyzid Liriomyza trifolii is recorded mining Flaveria.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Flaveria in Britain.
