GALEGA. Goat's Rue or French Lilac. [Fabaceae]

Goat's Rue or French Lilac (G. officinalis) is the only species of Galega recorded in Britain. It is introduced.

Only one dipterous miner, the agromyzid Liriomyza congesta, is recorded on Galega in Britain.

See COLUTEA.

The agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Galega and has been found under glass in England and Wales. All populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

Elsewhere the polypagous agromyzids Liriomyza bryoniae, Liriomyza huidobrensis and Liriomyza strigata are recorded mining Galega.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Galega in Britain.
