HELICTOTRICHON. Oat-grasses. [Poaceae]


Six species of Helictotrichon are recorded in Britain. These included the native Meadow Oat-grass (H. pratense) and Downy Oat-grass (H. pubescens).

One dipterous miner, Chromatomyia nigra, is recorded on Helictotrichon in Britain.

Elsewhere the agromyzid Chromatomyia fuscula, Chromatomyia nigra and Liriomyza flaveola and the ephydrid Hydrellia griseola are recorded mining Helictotrichon.

Two non-dipterous miners are recorded on Helictotrichon in Britain.
