HELICTOTRICHON. Oat-grasses. [Poaceae]

Six species of Helictotrichon are recorded in Britain. These included the native Meadow Oat-grass (H. pratense) and Downy Oat-grass (H. pubescens). One dipterous miner, Chromatomyia nigra, is recorded on Helictotrichon in Britain. See: ARRHENATHERUM. Elsewhere the agromyzid Chromatomyia fuscula, Chromatomyia nigra and Liriomyza flaveola and the ephydrid Hydrellia griseola are recorded mining Helictotrichon. Two non-dipterous miners are recorded on Helictotrichon in Britain. Elsewhere four additional British non-dipterous miners are recorded on Helictotrichon.
