HIMANTOGLOSSUM. Lizard orchid. [Orchidaceae]


Only one species of Himantoglossum is recorded in Britain - Lizard Orchid (H. hircinum). It is a native species and is protected under Schedule 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.

No dipterous miners are recorded on Himantoglossum in Britain.

Elsewhere the psilid Chyliza vittata is recorded mining Himantoglossum.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Himantoglossum in Britain.
