HYPERICUM. Tutsans and St John's-worts. [Clusiaceae]


Twebty-seven species and subspecies of Hypericum are recorded in Britain. These include Tall Tutsan (H. androsaemum), Stinking Tutsan (H. hircinum), Perforate St John's-wort (H. perforatum), Slender St John's-wort (H. pulchrum) and Square-stalked St John's-wort (H. tetrapterum).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Hypericum in Britain.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Chromatomyia 'atricornis', Liriomyza pusilla, Liriomyza strigata, Ophiomyia beckeri, Ophiomyia cunctata, Phytomyza cecidonomia and Phytomyza marginella, the drosophilid Scaptomyza flava, and the tephritid Trypeta immaculata are recorded mining Hypericum.

Two non-dipterous miners are recorded on Hypericum in Britain.
