IRIS. Irises. [Iridaceae]

Nineteen species of Iris are recorded in Britain. These include the native Yellow Iris (I. pseudacorus) and Stinking Iris (I. foetidissima) and the introduced Blue Iris (I. spuria). Two dipterous miners, the agromyzids Cerodontha iraeos and Cerodontha iridis, are recorded on Iris in Britain. Elsewhere the agromyzids Cerodontha iraeos and Cerodontha iridis are recorded mining Iris. One non-dipterous leaf-miner is recorded on Iris in Britain (see below).
