LAVATERA. Tree-mallows. [Malvaceae]


Nine species species of Lavatera are recorded in Britain. These include the native Tree-mallow (L. arborea) and Smaller Tree-mallow (L. cretica). Lavatera arborea is treated as Malva arborea by Stace (2010).

Two Diptera miners, the polyphagous agromyzids Chromatomyia horticola and Liriomyza strigata, are recorded on Lavatera in Britain.

No non-Diptera miners are recorded on Lavatera in Britain.
