LIMONIUM. Sea-lavenders. [Plumbaginaceae]


Eighteen species of Limonium are recorded in Britain. Fourteen species are native including Common Sea-lavenders (L. vulgare).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Limonium in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Limonium. The species has been found under glass in England and Wales. All populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

Elsewhere the agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis is recorded mining Limonium.

One non-dipterous leaf-miner is recorded on Limonium in Britain.
