LISTERA. Twayblades. [Orchidaceae]


Two species of Listera, Common Twayblade (L. ovata) and Lesser Twayblade (L. ovata), are recorded in Britain. Both are native.

No dipterous miners have been recorded on Listera in Britain until now. Two empty unidentified blotch mines on Listera ovata (see below) were found at Yockletts Bank, Kent on 21 May 2008, which may represent the scathophagid Parallelomma vittatum, the only insect recorded on this host in Europe.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Listera in Britain.
