MATTEUCCIA. Ostrich Feather or Shuttlecock Fern. [Woodsiaceae]


Ostrich Feather Fern or Shuttlecock Fern (M. struthiopteris) is the only species of Matteuccia recorded in Britain. It is an introduced species.

Only one dipterous miner, the anthomyiid Chirosia cinerosa, is recorded on Matteuccia in Britain.

Elsewhere the anthomyiids Chirosia cinerosa and Chirosia histricina are recorded mining Matteuccia.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Matteucia in Britain.
