Poppy (M. cambrica) is the only species of Meconopsis
recorded in Britain. It is a native species.
Two
dipterous miners, the agromyzids Chromatomyia
horticola and Liriomyza
strigata are recorded on Meconopsis in Britain.
Although
previously recorded as a leaf-miner in buds of Meconopsis,
Botanophila fugax
is a common saprophagous species, the larvae normally feeding in
the soil (Griffiths, pers. comm.).
Elsewhere
the agromyzid Liriomyza
strigata and the drosophilid Scaptomyza
flava are recorded mining Meconopsis.
No
non-dipterous miners are recorded on Meconopsis
in Britain.
