MISOPATES. Weasel's-snout. [Scrophulariaceae]


Two species of Misopates are recorded in Britain. These include the native Weasel's-snout (M. orontium).

Only one dipterous miner, the agromyzid Chromatomyia horticola, is recorded on Misopates in Britain.

No non-dipterous leaf miners are recorded on Misopates in Britain.




Key for the identification of the known Diptera mines in Britain.




1> Mine linear, whitish, both upper and lower surface. Pupation internal, at the end of the mine. Puparium whitish, anterior spiracles projecting through the epidermis.
