MORMORDICA. Balsam-pear. [Cucurbitaceae]


Only one species of Momordica is recorded in Britain, the introduced Balsam-pear (M. charantia).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Momordica in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza trifolii, a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded mining Momordica.

Elsewhere the agromyzid Liriomyza trifolii is recorded mining Momordica.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Momordica in Britain.
