NEOTTIA. Bird's-nest Orchid. [Orchidaceae]

Bird's-nest Orchid, (N. nidus-avis) is the only species of Neottia recorded in Britain. It is protected in Northern Ireland under Schedule 8 of the Wildlife (Northern Ireland) Order, 1985. Only one dipterous miner, the psilid Chyliza vittata, is recorded on Neottia and other orchids in Britain. See CEPHALANTHERA. No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Neottia in Britain.
