PERICALLIS. Cineraria. [Asteraceae]

The introduced Cineraria (P. hybrida) is the only species of Pericallis recorded in Britain.

Two dipterous miners, the polyphagous agromyzids Chromatomyia 'atricornis' and Liromyza strigata, are recorded on Pericallis in Britain.

See SENECIO.

The agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis, a p olyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Pericallis and has been found under glass in England and Wales. All populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Liriomyza huidobrensis and Liromyza strigata are recorded mining Pericallis.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Pericallis in Britain.
