PILOSELLA. Mouse-ear-hawkweeds. [Asteraceae]

Twenty species and subspecies of Pilosella are recorded in Britain. Three dipterous miners, the agromyzids Ophiomyia pulicaria, Phytomyza marginella and Phytomyza rufescens, are recorded mining Pilosella officinarum (as Hieracium pilosellae) in Britain. One non-dipterous leaf-miner is recorded on Pilosella in Britain (see below).
