Forty-one species and numerous hybrids of Potamogeton are recorded in Britain. All are native and include Shining Pondweed (P. lucens), Broad-leaved Pondweed (P. natans) and Bog Pondweed (P. polygonifolius) Six dipterous miners, the chironomids Cricotopus brevipalpis, Cricotopus tricinctus and Cricotopus trifasciatus, the drosophilid Scaptomyza griseola and the ephydrids Hydrellia albilabris and Hydrellia griseola are recorded on Potamogeton in Britain. Elsewhere the ephydrid Hydrellia cochleariae, the chironomid Cricotopus trifasciatus, and the drosophilid Scaptomyza griseola are recorded mining Potamogeton. One non-dipterous miner is recorded on Potamogeton in Britain (see below). |

Puparium whitish to dark grey
