PULICARIA. Fleabanes. [Asteraceae]

Four species of Pulicaria are recorded in Britain. These include the native Small Fleabane (P. vulgaris) and Common Fleabane (P. dysenterica).

Small Fleabane (P. vulgaris) is protected under Schedule 8 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981.

Two dipterous miners, the agromyzids Chromatomyia 'atricornis' and Phytomyza conyzae, are recorded on Pulicaria in Britain, although the record of Chromatomyia 'atricornis' requires confirmation.

See INULA.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Chromatomyia 'atricornis' and Phytomyza conyzae are recorded mining Pulicaria.

Four non-dipterous miners are recorded on Pulicaria in Britain.
