RAPHANUS. Radishes. [Brassicaceae]

Two species of Raphanus are recorded in Britain - Wild Radish (R. raphanistrum) and Garden Radish (R. sativus).

Only one dipterous miner, the drosophilid Scaptomyza flava, is recorded on Raphanus in Britain.

See BRASSICA.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Liriomyza bryoniae, Liriomyza strigata and Phytomyza rufipes are recorded on Raphanus.

The agromyzids Liriomyza huidobrensis, Liriomyza sativae and Liriomyza trifolii, polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, are recorded on Raphanus. Liriomyza huidobrensis and Liriomyza trifolii have been found under glass in England and Wales but all populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Raphanus in Britain.

Elsewhere one non-dipterous miner is recorded on Raphanus.
