SIDALCEA. Mallows. [Malvaceae]

Two species of Sidalcea are recorded in Britain. These include the introduced Prairie Mallow (S. candida) and Greek Mallow (S. malviflora).

Only one dipterous miner, the polyphagous agromyzid Liriomyza strigata, is recorded on Sidalcea in Britain.

See ALTHAEA.

The agromyzids Liriomyza sativae, a polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, is recorded on Sidalcea.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Liriomyza sativae and Liriomyza sativae are recorded mining Sidalcea.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Sidalcea in Britain.
