SINAPIS. Charlock and Wild Mustard. [Brassicaceae]


Four species of Sinapis are recorded in Britain. These include the native Charlock (S. arvensis) and the introduced White Mustard (S. alba).

Three dipterous miners, the agromyzids Chromatomyia horticola and Phytomyza rufipes and the drosophilid Scaptomyza graminum, are recorded on Sinapis in Britain.

Elsewhere the agromyzids Liriomyza bryoniae, Liriomyza strigata and Phytomyza rufipes and the drosophilid Scaptomyza flava are recorded mining Sinapis.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Sinapis in Britain.
