TRACHELIUM. Throatwort. [Campanulaceae]

Only one species of Trachelium is recorded in Britain, the introduced Throatwort (T. caeruleum).

No dipterous miners are recorded on Trachelium in Britain.

The agromyzid Liriomyza huidobrensis and Liriomyza trifolii, polyphagous pest species of ornamental and vegetable crops occasionally intercepted at UK points of entry, are recorded on Trachelium. Both species have been found under glass in England and Wales. All populations have been and continue to be eradicated.

Elsewhere the agromyzid Liriomyza strigata, Liriomyza huidobrensis and Liriomyza trifolii are recorded mining Trachelium.

No non-dipterous miners are recorded on Trachelium in Britain.
