Leaf-mine: Details unknown. The larva lives in the flower-buds and mines in the leaves (Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Belgium).

Distribution in Britain: Fairly common throughout Britain, including Lancaster (Greater Manchester, Chorlton) (UKMoths), Anglesey, Bedford, Caernarvon, Dorset, East Cornwall, East Sutherland, Easterness, Fife, Isle of Man, Kincardine, Merioneth, North Aberdeen, North Devon, North Ebudes, North Essex, South Aberdeen, South Devon, South Essex, South Hants, Soutf Lancaster, Surrey and West Lancaster (NBN Gateway distribution map - NESBRC, DBRC, GiGL, HBRG, JNCC, NE, NESBRC, SNH and SHWRG).

Also recorded in the Republic of Ireland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).

Distribution elsewhere: Widespread in Europe including Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Corsica, Czech Republic, Danish mainland, Estonia, Finland, French mainland, Greek mainland, Hungary, Italian mainland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Norwegian mainland, Poland, Portuguese mainland, Romania, Sardinia, Slovakia, Spanish mainland, Sweden and Switzerland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).
