Leaf-mine: The larvae mine the leaves creating a long, meandering gallery containing narrow blackish frass. In later instars, the larva feeds externally (UKMoths). The mine is also illustrated in British leafminers and Nederlandse bladmineerders.

Pupa: Details unknown.

Time of year - adults: Two generations, flying in April and May and again in August (UKMoths).

Distribution in Britain: Widely distributed over much of the British Isles (UKMoths), including Lancaster (Greater Manchester, St. Helens (British leafminers) and Littleborough (UKMoths), Derby, East Cornwall, Kincardine, North Hants, Salop, South Aberdeen, South Hants, South Lancaster, South Wilts, Stafford, Warwick, West Cornwall, Worcester (NBN Gateway distribution map - BRERC, NE, NESBRC and SHWRG) and Northern Ireland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).
