Leaf-mine: The mine begins somewhere halfway the blade as an upwards running corridor. After a while the direction reverses, and an elongate blotch develops occupying half the width of the leaf. Frass, light green at first, grey later, concentrated in the lowest part of the mine. Pupation external (Bladmineerders van Europa).

Larva: Yellowish green to greyish; head black, prothoracic plate light brown (Bladmineerders van Europa).

Pupa: Described by Patocka (1999a) and Patocka and Turcáni (2005a).

Adult: Not illustrated in UKMoths (check for update). The genitalia are not illustrated by the Lepidoptera Dissection Group (check for update).

Distribution in Great Britain and Ireland: Britain including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, East Kent, East Norfolk, East Suffolk, North Hampshire, North Wiltshire, South Devon, South Wiltshire, Stafford, West Norfolk, West Suffolk and Worcestershire (NBN Gateway, as Biselachista utonella - N.B. includes Watsonian Vice Counties having publicly available records that fall within or overlap the vice county border at 10km resolution or better i.e. a record for a vice county may relate to an adjacent vice county - for included datasets see NBN Grid map below).
