Leaf-mine: Blotch clouded, with some green matter left in mine. Several larvae (2-4) in one mine (British leafminers). The mine is also illustrated in UKMoths.

Larva: Small, translucent white (British leafminers). The larva is illustrated in Nederlandse bladmineerders.

Pupa: Details unknown.

Time of year - mines: May (British leafminers).

Time of year - adults: The adults fly around the foodplants during April, but are not often seen (UKMoths).

Distribution in Britain: Generally well distributed throughout much of mainland Britain (UKMoths) including East Kent, East Sutherland, Hereford, Stafford, West Gloucester, West Kent and Worcester (NBN Gateway distribution map - HBRG and NE). See also British leafminers distribution map.

Also recorded in the Republic of Ireland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).

Distribution elsewhere: Widespread in Europe including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Danish mainland, Estonia, Finland, French mainland, Germany, Italian mainland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norwegian mainland, Poland, Romania, Russia - North and South, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and The Netherlands (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).

Parasitoids: Unknown.
