Leaf-mine: The early gallery starts in the centre of the leaf. It is a linear track which widens to a large blotch at the leaf edge, with frass in long threads (British leafminers).

Larva: The larva is illustrated in Nederlandse bladmineerders.

Pupa: Details unknown.

Distribution in Britain: Well distributed across mainland Britain, but fairly localised, this species is probably overlooked (UKMoths) including East Ross, Hereford, Kirkudbrigh, South Aberdeen, Surrey, West Glouceste, West Kent, Worcester (NBN Gateway distribution map - HBRG, NE, NESBRC and SNH) and Northern Ireland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea). Also recorded in the Republic of Ireland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).

Distribution elsewhere: Widespread in Europe including Czech Republic, Danish mainland, Finland, French mainland, Germany, Latvia, Norwegian mainland, Russia - North, Sweden and The Netherlands (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).

Parasitoids: Unknown.
