Time of year - adults: The day-flying adults are to be found in June and July (UKMoths).

Distribution in Britain: Locally distributed on calcareous soil, inhabiting grassland, this is a nationally scarce species with a small number of populations ranging from Wilts to Kent (UKMoths) including East Kent, East Sussex, North Hants, North Somerset, North Wilts, South Hants, South Wilts, West Gloucester and West Sussex (NBN Gateway distribution map (as Adscita globulariae- JNCC and NE).

Distribution elsewhere: Widespread in Europe including Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, French mainland, Germany, Greek mainland, Hungary, Italian mainland, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Poland, ? Portuguese mainland, Romania, Russia - Central, East and South, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spanish mainland, Switzerland, Ukraine and Yugoslavia (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).

Parasitoids: Unknown.
