Leaf-mine: An underside mine, with few creases and causing little leaf distortion. Some mottling of the upper leaf surface may be caused (British leafminers).

Larva: Details unknown.

Pupa: The cremaster is smooth and rounded, with tiny spines (British leafminers). The pupa is also illustrated in Nederlandse bladmineerders.

Distribution elsewhere: Widespread in Europe including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Corsica, Czech Republic, French mainland, Germany, Hungary, Italian mainland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Russia - Central and South, Sardinia, Sicily, Slovakia, Spanish mainland, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Ukraine. Also recorded in Near East (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).
