Leaf-mine: An early gallery filled with greenish frass, later leaving clear margins (British leafminers).

Larva: The larva is bright yellow, head pale brown (British leafminers). The larva is illustrated in Nederlandse bladmineerders.

Pupa: Details unknown.

Time of year - mines: July, October - December (British leafminers).

Time of year - adults: Two generations, May and August (UKMoths).

Distribution in Britain: A fairly common species throughout the British Isles (UKMoths) including Banff, Bedford, Cambridge, East Kent, East Perth, Easterness, Edinburgh, Elgin, Forfar, Hereford, Hunts, Kincardine, Middlesex, North Aberdeen, North Devon, North Ebudes, North Hants, North Somerset, North-west York, South Aberdeen, South Lancaster, South Wilts, South-east York, South-west York, West Gloucester, West Suffolk, Worcester (NBN Gateway distribution map - BRERC, GiGL, HBRG, LWIC, NE, NESBRC, SNH and SHWRG) and the Channel Is. Also present in East Palaearctic (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea).
