Leaf-mine: A contorted gallery leading to small blotch (British leafminers).

Larva: The larva is amber yellow, head brown (British leafminers). The larva is also illustrated in Nederlandse bladmineerders.

Pupa: The cocoon is illustrated in British leafminers.

Distribution in Britain: A common species throughout the British Isles (UKMoths) including Banff, Bucks, Cambridge, East Kent, East Perth, Easterness, Edinburgh, Fife, Hereford, Hunts, Kincardine, Middlesex, North Aberdeen, North Ebudes, North Hants, Peebles, Selkirk, South Aberdeen, South Hants, South Lancaster, South-west York, Stirling, Surrey, West Cornwall, West Gloucester, West Suffolk and Worcester (NBN Gateway distribution map - BRERC, GiGL, HBRG, NE, NESBRC, SNH and SHWRG). Also recorded in the Republic of Ireland (Karsholt & van Nieukerken in Fauna Europaea; British leafminers distribution map).
