Leaf mine: A parthenogenetic species. Oviposition is from the underside of the leaf near the midrib into the distal part of the leaf. Larva forms a blotch mine, with a distinctive frass pattern, when viewed under the leaf. There is normally one mine per leaf (British leafminers).

Distribution elsewhere: Europe including Estonia, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Poland, Romania and Sweden (van Achterberg in Fauna Europaea).
