Leaf mine: A large, practically full depth blotch without an apparent initial corridor, starting in the centre of a leaf. The full grown larva makes a circular cocoon, attached to upper epidermis. Before that a circular cut has been made in the upper epidermis. The completed cocoon falls out of the mine together with the disk of upper epidermis (Bladmineerders van Europa).
