Leaf mine: The older part of the mine is characteristically a red-brown colour (as shown) and the mine contains little frass as the larva ejects it through a slit (British leafminers). The mine is also illustrated inNederlandse bladmineerders.

Larva: The larva is illustrated in British leafminers.

Pupa: The larva pupates in the mine in a disc structure (British leafminers).
