ARACHIS. Peanut. [Fabaceae]

Only one species of Arachis is recorded in Britain, the introduced Peanut (A. hypogea), which is occasionally found on rubbish tips.

No British miners are recorded on Arachis.

Elsewhere the non-British polyphagous agromyzids Liriomyza sativae and Liriomyza trifolii are recorded mining Arachis. See also Liriomyza species in Glasshouses and/or Quarantine Interceptions.

A key to the European miners recorded on Arachis is provided in Bladmineerders van Europa.
